So, for the first time in a long time there’s some good news from the ongoing farce that has been Health Insurance Reform. It appears there’s some momentum behind the recent initiative to force a reconciliation vote on the public option after all; most recently, both Vermont senators Leahy and Sanders have indicated that they, too, will sign on to the letter to Harry Reid.
Now, it’s all well and good for a few Senators showing the courage to stand up and do this. The problem lies squarely with Harry Reid who hasn’t had the courage to do anything useful on health care reform since the process started — as a matter of fact, he and Obama can share the blame between them (oh, okay give Rahm Emanuel a bit of the guilt, too) for the whole thing falling off the track before it even got started.
But still, good to see that there are still some that are willing to stand up for the right thing now and again… I just wish it would pay off for them (and us) now and again.
